Latest Class of Focus 21st Century Minority Leadership Program Honored

The Focus 21st Century Minority Leadership Program held its graduation ceremony Saturday at the Pioneer’s Memorial Complex with awards handed out and officers for next year announced.

Jamon Brisby, was named the winner of the Focus Spirit Award for showing “tremendous dedication” during the eight-month training period.

Officers for the coming year will be Carrie Caples – President; Faith Watkins – Vice President; Idalia Luna – Secretary; Raychel Fort-Farmer – Assistant Secretary; Diane Croney-Turner – Treasurer and Program Director; and Historian – Dorothy Tolliver.

Eva Martin, a teacher at Christian County High School and Adjunct Instructor at Hopkinsville College of the Bible was the guest speaker. She was a 2002 Focus graduate who spoke with the theme, “Building A Legacy of Community Service.”

The 2023 graduates were: Darryl Anderson, Chief Technology Officer, City of Hopkinsville; Stephanie Brewton, Therapist at Magellan Health; Jamon Brisby, Fulfillment Specialist, Lowe’s Home Improvement; Tracey Brumfield, Consumer Compliance Examiner, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB); Marian Conolly, Lab Technician I, Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories PSS; Khadjeh Donald, Manager, Zaxby’s; Crystal Ferreira, Patient Access, Jennie Stuart Health; Kechia Jones, Financial Clearance Specialist, Jennie Stuart Medical Center; Toyia Martin, Deputy Clerk, Christian County Clerk’s Office; LaKisha McKnight, Financial Clearance Specialist, Jennie Stuart Medical Center; Shannon Reeves, Customer Service Office Coordinator, Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority (HWEA), Akeisha Wilkerson, Preschool Coordinator, Christian County Public Schools.
