A local memorial service for 76-year-old Jerry W. Cohoon, of Sebring, Florida, formerly of Hopkinsville, will be held Friday afternoon, May 12, at 2:30 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Cadiz.
Visitation will begin Friday afternoon at 1:00.
A celebration of life will also take place Saturday afternoon, June 3, at 2:00 at the pavilion at Kamptown RV Park in Cadiz.
Jerry passed away in Florida on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.
He was born October 26, 1946, in Trigg County to Robert W. and Dorothy W. (Orten) Cohoon.
Jerry grew up in Hopkinsville, where he attended Hopkinsville High School. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and worked as an Electrician and Project Estimator for over 40 years in Northern California. Jerry enjoyed riding his motorcycle and photography.
Preceded in death by his father, Jerry is survived by his mother, Dorothy Cohoon of Cadiz; his daughter, Stephanie (Mike) Sartain, of Portland, Tenn.; his son, Shane (Emily) Cohoon, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Terry (Debbie) Cohoon of Cadiz, and his sister, Jan (Winfield) Witty of Cadiz. He also had a special bond with his best buddy Gizmo, his Yorkshire Terrier.
Jerry will be forever loved and forever remembered. Arrangements are under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home in Sebring, Florida.
