As the 2022-23 Leadership Hopkinsville-Christian County class ended this week, plans are in place for the next class which begins in August.
The class, hosted by the Christian County Chamber of Commerce, held a graduation ceremony for the class of 27 earlier this week at Hopkinsville Community College. During that celebration, Christian County Public Schools’ Technology Director Jason Wilson spoke to the class.
The Sherry Jeffers Spirit of Leadership Award was presented to class member, Mandy Guffey.
The class also presented a $1,000 donation to the Christian County Humane Society to help with the vet costs of animals they take in who are in need of medical care.
This year’s class also helped Men2Be. The class chose to renovate a home for the group to meet, tutor, and mentor young men in Christian County. The goal was to raise $10,000, and the class surpassed it by raising over $12,000. A ribbon cutting for the home will be held this summer.
As for the next class that begins in a few months, Christian County Chamber President Taylor Hayes told Your News Edge they are looking for members of that class through June 1.
Hayes said the program brings people together from all walks of life.
The program is open to anyone who either lives or works in Christian County.
