Kentucky PDI Effort Assisting Todd, Hickman County Projects

Governor Andy Beshear announced Thursday the continued growth of the Kentucky Product Development Initiative — which in this first round is investing in 22 site and building development projects across the Commonwealth.

Two of these sites include locations in Todd and Hickman counties in west Kentucky.

In a partnership with the Todd County Industrial Foundation Inc., the Todd County Fiscal Court is preparing to make major infrastructure improvements to the “Robertson” property. It’s a vacant, industrial development in the area, and the KPDI will supply nearly $300,000 with a total anticipated investment approaching $650,000.

Meanwhile, in partnership with the Hickman County Industrial Development Authority, the Hickman County Fiscal Court is building a new entryway for its Enterprise Park Clinton. It will also be adding a water well and a high-pressure pump to the site, in order to attract new business to the community. KPDI will provide a 50/50 matching grant totaling more than $75,000, meaning more than $150,000 will be invested in the development.

Others receiving initial KPDI funds include locations in Barren, Fayette, Green, Jackson, Jessamine, LaRue, McCreary, Wayne and Woodford counties, totaling nearly $7 million in efforts.

This KPDI program was established in 2022, when Beshear and the Kentucky General Assembly approved $100 million for these statewide available applications. It builds on dedicated efforts to develop land and buildings in communities statewide, and supports new, well-paying jobs and continued economic growth for Kentuckians.
