VFW Post 7890’s Karle Johnson relayed the significance of Memorial Day and the meaning of the POW/MIA White Table during the Trigg County Memorial Day service.
Johnson, who is the quartermaster of the post, was the featured speaker for the service Monday morning hosted by James Thomas Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution at West Cadiz park. Johnson told a crowd of veterans and community members about the importance of remembering and honoring our fallen soldiers.

Laura Thomas and Ray Thomas placed a wreath in front of the flag at the park to honor all veterans. Others participating in the service included Judge Executive Stan Humphries as the Master of Ceremonies, Mayor Todd King, the Pennyrile Honor Guard, DAR Registrar Dean Duncan, Robin Stevens, and Korean War Veteran of the US Navy Willie Wilson.
