A group of current and retired law enforcement officers, who are members of the Blue Knights, are riding their motorcycles across the country to experience the Tail of the Dragon near Gatlinburg.
Members of the Colorado VI Blue Knights Chapter made a pass through Kentucky along Interstate 24 en route to Gatlinburg Tuesday morning. Chapter President Scott Deeds says they are proud to be a part of a worldwide organization of current and former law enforcement officers who get together and ride.

click to download audioHe says their destination is an eleven-mile stretch of U.S. 129 which is known as the Tail of the Dragon known as the top destination in the country for motorcycle and sports car enthusiasts that is located between the Great Smoky Mountains and the Cherokee National Forest.
click to download audioMost of the riders are U.S. Military Veterans, with three of those on the trip formerly stationed at Fort Campbell. After stopping at the WKDZ-WHVO studios and touring the D.J. Everett, III Radio Room, the riders drove by Fort Campbell on their way to Tennessee.
