Funeral services for 89-year-old William “Bill” Schaefer, of Hopkinsville, will be 2 PM Monday, June 5, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 PM Monday, with a rosary service planned before the funeral.
Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include:
Wife of 46 years, Nancy Lack Schaefer;
Two sons, Steven William Schaefer, of Ohio, and Steven Wallace Lack (Michele), of Elkton;
Daughter, Nancy Anne Rogers (Troy) of Washington;
And several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Father Richard Meredith and Father Jude Okeoma are officiating.
He died Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.
He was born in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, on April 24, 1934, to the late William and Elizabeth Hushoff Schaefer. Schaefer was retired from IKG Industries in Nashville. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, where he volunteered at the church’s thrift store.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Schaefer; his brother, Henry Schaefer; and his sister, Mary Stump.
