Hopkinsville Factory Damaged In Sunday Fire (w/VIDEO)

A boiler fire led to the evacuation of Superior Graphite in Hopkinsville and several hours of working to extinguish the fire Sunday.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Payton Rogers says a fire in a boiler led to three fire stations being called to the structure to help contain the fire. Small fires outside of the failed boiler were extinguished Rogers says, adding they are standing by now as the boiler cools down.

Just about three hours after extinguishing the first fire firefighters were called back for a manifold attached to the furnace that failed causing a few small fires that were quickly extinguished.

Rogers says they have called in extra firefighters to ensure coverage over the city due to the hours spent at Superior Graphite.

There were no reports of any injuries.
