A Hopkinsville man was charged after he allegedly fled from law enforcement in a stolen vehicle on Durrett Avenue in Hopkinsville Tuesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop 22-year-old Trejan Hillsbury on Durrett Avenue who was driving a car that had been reported stolen. He allegedly jumped out of the vehicle with it still rolling and fled on foot before jumping a fence and being taken into custody on Poplar Street.
The car came to a stop after hitting a fence causing damage to the vehicle and fence.
Police say they were alerted of the stolen vehicle being in the area by city cameras.
Hillsbury was arrested and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, operating on a suspended or revoked license, first-degree criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, and two counts of probation violation.
