Miss WKSF Pageant Deadline Coming Up Friday

The deadline to enter the Miss Western Kentucky State Fair Pageant is Friday with a new fair queen to be crowned on Saturday, June 24 at the convention center.

Each contestant must have reached their 16th birthday by October 31 of this year and must have been 21 on the same date.

Doris Anne Russell, who along with Carolyn Cobb has helped organize the fair pageants for nearly 40 years, said the pageant rules and information can be found on the fair’s website.

click to download audioThe cost to enter the pageant is $50 and each contestant must have a sponsor. Last year’s fair queen was Caitlyn Hooks of Lyon County. Roberts said she advanced to the state level and nearly won.

click to download audioRussell said all contestants are required to attend two rehearsals next week prior to the pageant.

click to download audioRoberts said the pageant is an open pageant which means anyone who lives in Kentucky and meets the requirements of the rules can enter.
