As the Western Kentucky State Fair reaches its midway point Tuesday night, attendance is tracking at comparable levels to recent years.
Weekend attendance was nearly equal to 2021 and ahead of last year. On Monday, 3,436 people attended the fair which was about 350 fewer than last year.
Through four nights, attendance has been 20,039, about a thousand more than last year and 1,000 less than in 2021.
Tuesday is free admission for Pennyrile Electric members with a coupon until 6:00.
Fair board member Tony Meacham said there continues to be events for everyone to enjoy at the fair.
click to download audioPennyrile Electric is featuring the Little Roy and Lizzy Show in the convention center with two shows at 6:00 and 7:30. The Bluegrass ensemble features Lizzy Long, who has played with Earl Scruggs, and Southern Gospel Music Hall of Famer Little Roy.
Their stop in Hopkinsville is one of several that will take the entertainers to Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Missouri over the next two weeks.
Go-Kart races will be at the grandstand at 7:00 and Meacham hinted at some chances to win for fairgoers later in the week.

Wednesday is Military and First Responders Day with free admission and discounted ride armbands to those with a valid ID.
