Trigg County Now A StormReady Community

Trigg County joined a growing list of Kentucky counties to join the National Weather Service’s StormReady program this week.

During a presentation Thursday morning, NWS Paducah Warning Coordination Meteorologist Christine Wielgos presented a certificate dated May 15, 2023, to Emergency Manager David Bryant, Paula Flood from Trigg County Emergency Management, and Judge-Executive Stan Humphries.

Trigg County will remain a StormReady community for four years – when NWS officials will return to ensure nothing has changed.

The NWS said the designation also means that emergency officials are best spending federal dollars when it comes to disasters in the community.

Bryant said the designation means that the Trigg County community can feel a little safer during times of severe weather.

There are nearly 60 Kentucky counties that have received the designation, with Caldwell County becoming one of the latest Tuesday.
