The Western Kentucky State Fair came to a close Saturday night afternoon two nights of truck and tractor pulls and championship wrestling inside the convention center.
William Melinder of Hopkinsville was the lucky winner of the $1,000 drawing Saturday night. Fairboard President Brad Hewell presented him the money after his name was drawn.
Fair attendance had been strong during most of the fair, with Friday and Saturday’s attendance impacted by severe storms that passed through the region.
Fairboard member Tony Meacham thanked the volunteers and the sponsors for helping make this year’s fair a success.
