The Christian County Board of Education will hold a public hearing Thursday night to elicit a response about the district’s facility plan.
Board Members unanimously voted at a meeting last month to approve the recommendation from the Local Planning Committee to move Hopkinsville Middle School to Martin Luther King Elementary, move Indian Hills Elementary to Hopkinsville Middle School, with the Indian Hills building becoming the home of the Inspire Early learning center and Pre-K 4.
The move also allows the district to move sixth grade back into the middle school.
As required by state law, the board will record both comments made in person Thursday and those received in writing by the board prior to Thursday’s hearing. The district plan facilities plan will then be forwarded to the Kentucky Department of Education.
The public hearing will be at 5:30 at the board office on Glass Avenue.
