A Hopkinsville man reported a theft Thursday after he attempted to purchase a vehicle from someone in the Walmart parking lot on July 2nd.
Hopkinsville Police say the man bought a Dodge Challenger from someone in the parking lot paying them $7,000 and was later told the car had a $5,000 lein on it and he would have to pay it. After contacting the person that he bought the vehicle from, the man reportedly agreed to give back the Dodge Challenger and buy a Camaro from the suspect for $1,000 more that had a clean title.
Police say the man never got the title or the car and did not get his money back for the first or second vehicle.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident. No arrest has been made.
