A Hopkinsville woman was charged Tuesday with theft after she allegedly took an elderly woman’s money while being her caregiver.
Hopkinsville Police say from December 22nd to July 2nd 59-year-old Ann Medina took over $30,000 from a woman that was keeping it in a shoe box while making excuses to not take her to the bank to deposit the money. Medina had been the caregiver for the woman for 5 years.
Police say Medina admitted to taking the money from the woman and told her she was going to go to rehab.
Medina was arrested Tuesday and charged with theft by unlawful taking.
