A Crofton man appeared in Christian County Circuit Wednesday morning and saw his case as well as motions to revoke his probation continued to next month.
33-year-old Joshua Smith is charged with attempted murder of a police officer, first-degree wanton endangerment, receiving stolen property, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and multiple traffic charges.
Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies said they tried to stop Smith on March 3 on Old Madisonville Road in a stolen vehicle. Smith attempted to elude police at speeds reaching triple digits before police used spike strips near Madisonville Road.
Smith’s car reportedly hit Sheriff Tyler DeArmond’s vehicle and narrowly missed Lt. Scott Smith.
Joshua Smith has a court date of August 2 for a pretrial conference to discuss the progress of this case and the status of his probation from three cases in 2022.
