Quarles Pleads Guilty In May 2022 Hopkinsville Shooting

The man charged with a May 2022 murder in Hopkinsville will be sentenced to 25 years in prison after entering a guilty plea Friday afternoon in Christian County Circuit Court.

Special Prosecutor Clayton Adams read the plea agreement that was mediated by former District Judge Jim Adams.

click to download audioAdams told Judge Atkins that Quarles will be eligible for parole after serving twenty percent of his sentence.

click to download audioQuarles was charged with the May 2022 fatal shooting of 33-year-old Christopher Mumford, whose body was located in front of an East 4th Street home with a gunshot wound to the head. He was also facing cocaine charges that were included in the plea agreement.

Quarles will be sentenced on September 13 in Christian Circuit Court.
