The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County have a few summer updates.
Executive Director Alissa Keller says they are still working on the Woody Winfree Museum developments and are committed to repairing the building.
Keller says straight line winds hit the Woody Winfree Museum at the end of March and blew out windows and a wall on the second floor, but no museum exhibits were harmed.
However, she says the clock tower’s face has experienced some damage.
Next Sunday, the museums will be hosting an August 8th Emancipation Celebration from 1:00-3:30 p.m.
She notes a portion of 9th St. will be closed during the event.
Keller adds the museums experimented with staying open on Mondays over the summer, and while there was a good response, they will be transitioning back to their Tuesday-Saturday schedule after Monday, July 31.
The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County are located at 217 E. 9th St.
