After enjoying high temperatures in the 80s for most of the month, the mercury is expected to top 90 degrees several days this week.
Weather Edge forecaster David Powell said temperatures, humidity, and the heat index will likely hit its highest readings of the month this week.

Through Sunday, the average temperature for the month was 76.2 degrees, which would place it just inside the top 10 for coolest Julys on record according to weather service records for the southern Pennyrile.
