Born January 26, 1977, in Henderson, Kentucky, he was the son of Gayl DeSpain of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and the late William “W.J.” DeSpain.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic and a former deputy sheriff in Todd County, as well as a former deputy jailer in Christian County.
Jared held membership at One Church in Cadiz and was a dedicated member of the Trigg-Lyon Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, collecting knives and guns, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Stephanie DeSpain of Cadiz; three sons, Joseph (Jessica) DeSpain of Princeton, Daniel (Jessica) DeSpain of Cadiz, and Austin (Brittany) Pugh of Princeton; a daughter, Danielle Rogers of Glasgow; five grandchildren, Rylee, Penelope, Ausher, Ava, and Deacon; a brother, Patrick (Tammy) DeSpain of Lovington, NM; sister, Mindy (Paul) Sanborn of Bowling Green; nephews, Jordan DeSpain and Aaron DeSpain; and a niece, Abigayl Sanborn.
A memorial service to honor Jared’s life will be at One Church, 96 Roger Thomas Road, Cadiz, at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2023, with Pastor Will Heck officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz.
