Bruce Edward Smith, age 66, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Christian Health Center of natural causes. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM with Kelly Jeffcoat and Brother Jerry Johnson officiating at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home Sunday, August 20, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Smith was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on May 17, 1957, the son of Sallie Knight Smith and the late Edward Ross Smith. Bruce worked as a truck driver for Pilot Travel Center. He was also a member of Lafayette Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, Sallie Smith of Lafayette, survivors include his wife of 41 years, Ann Smith of Lafayette; his sister, Lori Shepherd and her husband Themie of Lafayette.
