Speeding Stop Leads To Drug Arrest

A man was charged with drug possession after a traffic stop for speeding in Oak Grove Wednesday.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say 22-year-old Cardona Reimundo was stopped after deputies clocked him going 101 mph on Interstate 24. He failed to stop right away but then pulled into the Shell Gas station at exit 89 then allegedly threw something out the passenger window that shattered.

Deputies say he told them he had ingested meth prior to operating the vehicle and he was only speeding because he wanted to feel the beat of the music while driving.

Reimundo was found to have marijuana and meth in his possession. He was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, possession of meth, criminal littering, no operator’s license, improper use of left lane, speeding, and reckless driving.
