A traffic stop on East 21st Street in Hopkinsville led to drug charges for two women Wednesday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle for a canceled registration tag for failure to maintain required insurance and during the stop the driver gave consent for officers to search the vehicle.
Meth was reportedly found in a purse in the backseat that was by 33-year-old Jessica Zepeda and 37-year-old Amanda Cardwell.
Police say Zepeda refuse to give officers her name and admitted to having drugs and a pipe on her while en route to the jail that someone gave her to hide.
Zepeda was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, trafficking meth, probation violation, and obstructing governmental operations, along with warrants for two counts of contempt of court.
Cardwell was arrested and charged with possession of meth.
