Trigg County High School Student Dies In Saturday Night Crash

A fatal traffic crash Saturday night on Glenwood Mill Road claimed the life of a 16-year old Trigg County High School Junior.

Trigg County Deputy Coroner Matthew Phillips identified the victim of the crash as 16-year old Lillyan G. Williams of Cadiz. Trigg County Emergency personnel told the News Edge Saturday night Williams was the passenger in a vehicle that ran off Glenwood Mill Road at the Little River Bridge. The driver of the vehicle, whose name has not been released, was taken to Trigg County Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Trigg County Schools Superintendent Bill Thorpe says clergy and counselors will be ready to talk with students at the high school. Thorpe says Williams has siblings at Trigg County Middle and Intermediate School, with counselors and clergy also on hand there for students.

Trigg County High School Principal Tim Bush says Williams was a former volleyball player and a very active member of the engineering pathway and the TSA club related to that pathway.

Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate the crash, but have not released the name of the driver of the vehicle or any details about the accident.
