Pearl Luevirne (Laster) Knight, age 83, of Clifty, KY went to meet her Lord on August 17, 2023. Pearl was born on March 1, 1940, to Flossie Ann (McGehee) and Ross Thomas Laster. Pearl was preceded in death by her one true love Billy F. Knight, of 43 years.

Pearl’s entire life was spent on Blue Hole Road. She was born there as well as raised her family there. There truly was no place like home to Pearl. She loved living there surrounded by family dotting up and down the road. She lovingly talked of walking the dirt road back then visiting with her friends and family.

She loved to crochet baby blankets to give as gifts, and also loved feeding and watching the many hummingbirds before she lost her vision. Pearl’s home was always open and welcoming to anyone that came. She would lovingly cook Sunday dinners for years and anyone that showed up was happily received. Pearl was a faithful member to her beloved church, New Hope Baptist Church until the last few years when her health started to decline. Pearl grew up in New Hope, as well as raised her five sons there. She gave her life to the Lord at age twelve. She was a strong Christian woman that loved the Lord, and is in Heaven now with her eyesight fully restored.

Pearl was totally blind for the last twelve years, but she insisted on staying in her own home. She was fiercely independent and is to be admired for her strength and courage.

She loved her sons dearly, as they all loved and respected her. Pearl was a devoted Mamaw to her beloved grandchildren, as well as a steady and wonderful example to her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Pearl was preceded in death by her first-born son, Jeffrey Thomas, as well as her six brothers; Clark, J.D., Carl Hugh, Emmitte, Romie and Bobby Laster.

She is survived by her five sons, Billy D. Knight of Elkton; Tony (Tammy) Knight of Virginia; Darrell (Tina) Knight of Hopkinsville; Carl (Susan) Knight of Elkton; and James (Katie) Knight of Hopkinsville. Pearl is also survived by seven grandchildren; Courtney, Carla, Sophia, Violet Pearl, Truett, Kacy and Shawn as well as six great grandchildren; Taylor, Bentley, Natalie, Weston, Bronson, and Gunnar.
