A group of first responders joined veterans, local officials, and community members at VFW Post 1913 in Hopkinsville Monday morning to commemorate the attack on our country on September 11, 2001.
Following the presentation of colors VFW Post 1913 Commander John Brame encouraged all those on hand for the ceremony to remember the people who died twenty-two years ago.
Brame also thanked first responders on hand from the Hopkinsville Fire and Police Departments, and the Christian County Sheriff's Department for what they do and remembered the first responders who died on September 11, 2001.
And Brame said it is important that we as a country do not forget the attacks on our country on that day and since.
Following a closing prayer and the playing of taps everyone released more than 200 red, white, and blue balloons.
