The Hopkinsville Police Department responded to Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School Wednesday morning to investigate a report of an active shooter.
Police said there was no evidence of any shots being fired but are remaining at the school to investigate and conduct a sweep of the building and grounds.
At 10:49 am, the Christian County Public Schools issued a statement that said they have placed all schools in the district on high alert and that no students will be allowed in or out.
Police said there are no reports of any injuries and have asked that parents stay out of the area while they continue to search the area and investigate the incident.
