A Hopkinsville man that was arrested on several felony warrants was found to have a large amount of drugs Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 35-year-old Benjamin Murray on East 9th Street who had felony warrants for failure to appear and probation violation.
He also had an indictment warrant for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, public intoxication, menacing, harassment, and possession of marijuana.
During the stop, officers could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana and after a search of the vehicle, 68 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen handgun were located.
He was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, receiving stolen property, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, no registration plate, and no operator’s license.
