Ham Biscuit Eating Contest To Debut At Trigg County Ham Festival

A local charity will benefit as the result of the first Trigg County Ham Festival Ham Biscuit Eating Competition.

The competition that was the idea of ham festival committee supporter Kerry Fowler will be held in front of the Trigg County Justice Center Saturday, October 14, at 11:00. Fowler says the contest was inspired by a similar contest that he ran across in Georgia.

click to download audioFowler says he quickly sought the help of Hancock’s Neighborhood Market owner Mallory Lawrence and Trigg County Chamber of Commerce Membership Director Beth Sumner. Lawrence says she and her staff will be preparing the ham biscuits for the competition.

click to download audioThe Trigg County Chamber of Commerce will oversee the donations that have been raised, with Membership Director Beth Sumner saying at least one charity will receive donations, possibly two.
