Two Tennessee men were charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on South Main Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Bradley Madden of Westmoreland for traveling in the wrong direction and during the stop, officers could smell the odor of alcohol and marijuana coming from the vehicle.
After a search of the vehicle and their belongings, Opium, 20 Fentanyl pills, marijuana, and Percocet pills were reportedly found.
Police say a passenger in the vehicle 36-year-old Dennis Poole of Clarksville gave officers a fake name and was found to have a Tennessee warrant.
Poole was arrested and charged with theft of identity, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, possession of opiates, and trafficking fentanyl. Madden was also arrested and charged with improper lane, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, DUI, and possession of opiates.
