Woman Charged With Drug Possession In Hopkinsville

A Christian County woman was charged with drug possession after a traffic stop on Ferrell Street Wednesday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 35-year-old Heather Ballard was stopped for her rear license plate not being visible and during the stop she gave officers her mother’s name claiming it was hers.

After a search of her belongings, buprenorphine and naloxone pills were reportedly found.

She was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, theft of identity, giving officers false identifying information, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), failure to maintain required insurance, no registration receipt, and rear license not illuminated.

She also had warrants for theft by unlawful taking shoplifting and three counts of failure to appear.
