October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Tuesday night, Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam joined Hopkinsville Mayor JR Knight to acknowledge the observance and Sanctuary Incorporated.

In other business, City Council passed the first readings of three ordinances changing the zoning designation for areas of Canton Pike, Wilshire Drive, and Devonshire Circle as well as declaring several items as surplus property.
