Woman Charged With DUI After Hopkinsville Crash

A wreck on Central Avenue led to a Hopkinsville woman being charged with DUI and endangering the welfare of a minor Wednesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the area for a vehicle that had hit an industrial garbage container and found the driver 32-year-old Emma Armstrong had fled the area.

She was located at her home on Boales Street and reportedly had slurred speech and became irate while being arrested.

Police say a 7-year-old child was also inside her home and didn’t know his mother had been gone.

She was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, endangering the welfare of a minor, and DUI.
