While Wednesday’s Powerball drawing didn’t produce a national winner of the $1.2 billion cash prize, a few individuals were still lucky enough to land some cash.
An unnamed woman from Christian County snagged $2 million in winnings, after hitting on the first five numbers with a Power Play.
She played the Powerball online.
Officials from the Kentucky Lottery surprised her with a phone call Thursday morning, in order to share the good news.
More details will be provided when the winner picks up the check.
The Powerball has climbed north of $1.4 billion, third-largest in American history and fifth-largest in world history, and the next drawing will be Saturday night.
The last time someone won Powerball: July 19. The odds of winning Powerball: 1 in 292.2 million. The odds of a correct Pick 5: 1 in 11.7 million.
