Karen S. Drennan, age 70, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Jennie Stuart of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow at Eddy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Princeton, KY. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Drennan was born on June 11, 1953, in Evansville, IN, the daughter of the late Richard and Beverly Adams Burnett. Karen received degrees from Hopkinsville Community College, the University of Louisville, and received her master’s degree from Murray State University. She worked for 19 years as an operations supervisor at Planters Bank, and she then taught business at Christian County High School. Karen was a member of and past president of Hopkinsville BPW. She also was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her, brothers, Ricky Burnett and Larry Burnett.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, James E. Drennan; her son, John Drennan of Sacramento, CA; her daughter, Jennifer Drennan Bell (Robert) of Knoxville, TN, Kathryn Drennan Walker (Ben) of Clarksville, TN; her sister, Kim Conley (Todd) of Flowery Branch, GA; her grandchildren, Nick Bell (Keisha), James Bell, Jackson Bell, Aniston Poole; and her great-grandchildren, Kyle Bell and Emily Bell.
