Trigg County Solid Waste is hosting a junk tire amnesty program Thursday and Friday to collect junk tires in the county.
County Solid Waste Coordinator Ron Brown says anyone who has junk tires is welcome to bring them to the Trigg County Road Garage Thursday or Friday.
click to download audioTrigg County Jailer James Hughes is coordinating the tire collection with the help of inmates from the Christian County Jail. Hughes says the event will be held Thursday or Friday rain or shine. The Tire Amnesty program is open to any Trigg County resident. Tires will be accepted on and off the rims. Foam filled, road construction equipment tires, and solid tires with pressed on rims cannot be accepted.
Tires can be brought to the Trigg County road garage October 19 and 20 from 7:30 until 3:00 each day.
