Funeral services for 91-year-old Loretta Dunning Atkins, of Hopkinsville, will be 2 PM Sunday at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour.
Survivors include:
Husband of 71 years, Herman Atkins;
Three sons, James Steven (Helen) Atkins, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Michael David (Kay) Atkins, of Fancy Farm, and Kevin Ray (Karen), of Lexington;
Four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Hunter Hanson is officiating.
She died at 9:41 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
A native of Christian County, she was born October 15, 1932, the daughter of the late James Estin Dunning and Alma Fay Wiggins Dunning.
She was a graduate of Bethel College, and had retired from banking having spent most of her career at the Old Planters Bank and, later, from Sovran Bank. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Caryl Atkins Henderson.
