Spending at the City of Hopkinsville may be getting another layer of checks and balances after a discussion at the Committee of the Whole meeting.
Thursday night, Chief Financial Officer Melissa Clayton presented the Code Enforcement changes to the City Council.

click to download audioAfter discussing the merits of the move and the finances, Council members voted 8 to 3 to have an ordinance drafted and brought before City Council. However, this quick request prompted Councilman Chuck Crabtree to propose a new committee.
