Jennie Stuart Health Announces Renovations For Wound Healing Center

In August 2012, Jennie Stuart Health officials cut the ribbon on their Wound Healing Center — ushering in a new opportunity for care and assistance toward local and regional patients needing extended triage.

Friday afternoon at 1719 High Street in Hopkinsville, officials cut the ribbon on their Wound Healing Center again — showcasing a number of renovations, re-fittings and improvements to the 11-year-old facility.

Most importantly, it’s a new entryway — one that’s more convenient for visitors.

Furthermore, the Wound Healing Center and its medical practitioners specialize in the treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds through the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and other non-conventional means. Officials noted 11 years ago, and Friday, that many of these types of wounds are associated with complications from diabetes, vascular disorders, pressure sores, traumatic injuries, osteomyelitis and the like.

A hospital-based outpatient service, it’s still located on the ground floor.

One is advised to visit the center if a sore or wound refuses to significantly improve between four and eight weeks.

The campus of JSH remains busy with construction, as well, including the continuing efforts on the E.C. Green Cancer Center.

For questions and concerns, call (270) 886-6412. The center is open from 8 AM until 4 PM Monday through Thursday and from 8 AM until noon Fridays, with a one-hour lunch observed each weekday.
