High school bands from Hopkinsville and Christian County will be among those competing in the Kentucky Music Educators Association state band competition next weekend.
Saturday night afternoon the bands from Christian County and Hopkinsville High Schools both earned a chance to move to the semi-finals at Barren County High School. Christian County took second place in the quarter final round and Hopkinsville took fourth place.
Both bands will move on to state semifinals next Saturday at Barren County High School. The bands will perform to try and earn a spot in the state championship round Saturday night at Western Kentucky University.
