Hopkinsville Man Arrested In Connection To October Pursuit

A Hopkinsville man was charged Saturday after police say he led them on a pursuit on October 18th.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop 21-year-old Eric Blaine on East 21st Street for his trunk being open making his vehicle registration plate unreadable and he fled at speeds of over 60 mph leading them on a pursuit. Police say Blaine disregarded stop signs and crossed into the opposite lane before coming to a stop on South Virginia Street in a gravel parking lot and fleeing on foot leaving his passenger behind.

Police say they were able to get a search warrant for his apartment on Denzil Drive after the passenger in the vehicle along with the owner of the vehicle identified the driver as Blaine but he was not inside the apartment.

He was located Saturday and charged with speeding, improper turning, disregarding a stop sign, reckless driving, improper display of registration plates, first-degree wanton endangerment, and two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police.
