Christian County Public Schools announced Thursday morning the candidates and timeline to fill the vacant 2nd District Board seat.
The eligible candidates include Ambrea Watkins, Virginia Erxleben, and Marsha Garnett. All three meet the qualifications laid out by the Kentucky Department of Education to fill the seat.
The Christian County school board will hold a Special Called Board meeting on Monday afternoon to review the applications. They will then decide to appoint an applicant, interview applicants, or take no further action and allow the decision to be made by the Kentucky Department of Education Interim Commissioner, Robin Fields Kinney.
If a candidate is selected, the candidate would take office immediately and be sworn in during the November 16 regular meeting with Rebecca Pepper, who was recently elected to fill an unexpired term.
