Bob Waldron, 79, of Hopkinsville

Funeral mass for 79-year-old Bob Waldron of Hopkinsville, KY, will be Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church.

A rosary will be said at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

Bob Waldron died Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN.

A native of Hopkinsville, KY he was born July 28, 1944 the son of the late Thomas William Waldron, Sr. and Mary Agnes Johnson Waldron. He was a graduate of Hopkinsville High School and Western Kentucky University. He taught math at both Christian County Middle School and Hopkinsville High School. He was the owner of Waldron Electric and Waldron Contracting, Inc.

He was nominated Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year by the Department of the Army Directorate of Contracting. He received the Administrative Award for Excellence for work performed at Fort Campbell, KY. He was also awarded numerous Outstanding Overall Ratings for Performance from the Department of the Army Directorate of Contracting and the Corps of Engineers for projects completed at Fort Campbell, KY.

He served two four-year terms on the Hopkinsville Electric Service Board of Directors including serving as chairman. He was a charter board member of Repair Affair of Hopkinsville, an organization which helped repair homes in low-income senior citizens in our community. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran and served as the chaplain’s assistant and received the National Defense Service Medal Expert for Rifle. He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Waldron.

Survivors include his wife: Laura Garnett Waldron; his children: Laura (Brock) Sargeant of Hopkinsville, KY and Ricky (Ginger) Waldron of Leitchfield, KY; and his grandchildren: Trey Stevens, Sofia Sargeant, Tatum Waldron, Sarah Anne Sargeant, and Susanna Sargeant.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church Youth Ministry.
