Hopkinsville Spends Last of Funds to Upgrade 31 Cameras

Two years ago, the City of Hopkinsville started down the road of installing cameras and now they are planning to upgrade the last analog devices. Tuesday night, the City Council approved spending $41,000 to purchase 31 cameras as part of the FLOCK program.

In other business, City Council approved the three first readings of rezonings on Canton Pike and Pyle Lane. Council also approved the first reading of ordinances renaming a portion of East 8th Street for bell hooks and a portion of East 21st Street for Bill Flynn.

Meanwhile, City Administrator Troy Body was appointed to the Joint Hopkinsville-Christian County Ambulance Services Board; Natalie Adams to the Hopkinsville Code of Ordinances; Michael Cansler to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Planning Commission; Dave Fernandez and Diane Croney-Turner to the Hopkinsville Surface and Stormwater Utility Board; Jason Bell to the HWEA Board; Amy Craig to the HES Board; Steve Keel to the Hopkinsville Solid Waste Enterprise Board; Bruce Smiley to the Hopkinsville Cable Television Oversight Authority and the Long Range Planning and Coordination Committee; Travis Martin to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Ambulance Service Board; Donald Marsh to the Christian County Senior Center Board, Hopkinsville/Christian County ECC Board, Retired Senior Volunteers Program Council, and Westwood Senior Homes Board; Robert Terry Meek to the Hopkinsville Christian County Airport Board and Tax Increment Finance Development Authority; Matthew Handy to the Human Rights Commission and the Pennyroyal Area Museum Board of Directors; Jaime Lienberger to the Hopkinsville Christian County Public Library Board and the Pennyrile RC&D Council; and Logan Kirkman to the Board of Zoning Adjustment.
