Donations Sought To Brighten Holiday Season For Women In Local Shelter

While most of the holiday needs have been met for families seeking services through Sanctuary, Inc., donations are still being accepted to make the season even brighter for women in the local shelter.

Communications and Community Engagement Coordinator Zirconia Vansauwa said a campaign was held in November to collect items for 25 families.

Donations collected last month will provide gifts for at least a dozen children. For more information, she encouraged anyone to call (270) 885-4572.

If you are looking for a new ornament to add to this year’s Christmas tree, Vansauwa said they have one for sale this year to help raise awareness concerning domestic violence.

The ornaments can be purchased at seven Hopkinsville locations through Christmas Eve – Sunday, December 24.

As we head into 2024, Sanctuary, Inc. is taking on a new program, Empowered to Work.

Currently, Vansauwa said one business is on board and they are seeking more. Call (270) 885-4572 for more details.
