An apartment on High Street In Hopkinsville was damaged in a fire Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Firefighters say just before 1 a.m. a fire that started on the stove while cooking damaged the area around the stove but was quickly extinguished by the people in the apartment before firefighters arrived.
A man who was inside the apartment was treated and transported by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health for what firefighters say is an unrelated medical issue.
The people staying in the apartment will be temporarily displaced due to the fire. The apartment complex is located at the intersection of West 20th Street.
