A man was charged after he hit a tow truck driver on East 23rd Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 23-year-old Trystan Gilkey got into an altercation with the tow truck driver who was picking up an abandoned vehicle on private property.
During the altercation, Gilkey reportedly hit the tow truck driver with his vehicle while leaving the scene when the police were called.
Police say Gilkey was later located back at the residence on East 23rd Street hiding upstairs after a search of the home and he attempted to pull away from officers, kicked the door to the police cruiser, and damaged an officers watch band.
He was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, alcohol intoxication in a public place, resisting arrest, second-degree assault, and first-degree wanton endangerment.
