Helping Hands Holiday Food Drive Held Thursday

A food-drive that has become a local tradition for Trigg County’s Helping Hands, brought in nearly a month supply of food for the non-profit organization.

Hancock’s Neighborhood Market and the Edge Media Group hosted the holiday food drive Thursday afternoon, and it proved successful, even though donations were down from last year’s effort, according to Edge Media’s Cindy Allen-Lax.

Helping Hand’s K.G. Ariagno said they are always proud of the community’s support, especially around the holidays – when it’s needed the most.

She added if you know a Trigg County resident in need this holiday season, encourage them to reach out for a hand up.

The Helping Hands Food Bank is located at 21 Line in Cadiz and is open Mondays and Fridays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The Bargain Barn, a thrift store that supports the food bank through its proceeds, can be found at 307 Main Street in Cadiz. It welcomes visitors on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Donations of re-sell items are accepted at the facility on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
