A pair of familiar local legislators have officially filed for re-election.
First elected to his post in 2006, Ninth District State Representative Myron Dossett wants to return to the Kentucky General Assembly.
Dossett writes “it’s been an honor” representing the citizens of Christian County, and that he “looks forward to continue working to see the district move forward economically,” while offering constituents help with issues and problems they may encounter.
He’s now one of the longest-tenured members of Kentucky’s House of Representatives, and maintains membership in the House Sessions with Natural Resources & Energy, Veterans/Military Affairs/Public Protection, Appropriations & Revenue, and a Subcommittee for Personnel/Public Retirement/Finance.
Meanwhile, Eighth District State Representative Walker Thomas filed for re-election within the last two weeks.
Having served different parts of Christian County, Caldwell County, Trigg County and Fort Campbell since 2017, Thomas will be rather active during the 2024 legislative session — which comes with it the critical decisions behind a biennium budget.
For the seventh-straight year, he will be seeking tax exemptions on military pensions, and he currently serves as Veterans/Military Affairs/Public Protection, Local Government, Agriculture and Transportation committees during the Standing House Session.
